    Thanks for a great question! Yes, coffee counts as part of your water intake. Coffee is a known diuretic, so it may make you use the bathroom more than usual, but you won't lose all the fluid you took in from coffee. The diuretic effect of coffee is believed to be small - some studies even suggest that coffee may be as hydrating as water:  
    However, caffeine can have other side effects so we recommend keeping your coffee intake in moderation.
